Hey there, fellow busy-brainer*

*Definition: a person with a wonderful and unique brain that happens to diverge from society’s “norms”, meaning they have to work harder to complete daily tasks and reach their goals.

Nicola Thomas - ADHD coach

Hi, I’m Nicola…

…founder of The Busy Brain, ADHD coach, workplace consultant, and someone whose brain has always been (yep, you guessed it) busy.

I was diagnosed with ADHD in 2022 and suddenly, so many puzzle pieces clicked into place. Like a lot of women, I’d spent years masking, overthinking, people-pleasing, opening a million tabs (in my browser and my brain), and wondering why things felt harder than they seemed for everyone else.

What I didn’t realise for a long time is that my ADHD wasn’t just a list of “challenges”, it was also the source of my creativity, empathy, resilience, and knack for getting things done (eventually… usually with a deadline breathing down my neck).

The Busy Brain is here to do two things…

Support women with ADHD (whether diagnosed or just wondering) — through 1:1 coaching, kindness, and real talk.

Whether you’ve just had the official confirmation or you’re still piecing together years of “wait… could this be me?” moments, I’m here to help you make sense of it all, without judgment, pressure, or a single mention of a colour-coded planner (unless you love that sort of thing).

Help forward-thinking employers understand how to actually support their ADHD employees. Not just with “awareness days” or surface-level policies, but through real, practical education and culture change.

Because when we stop trying to “fix” ADHD and start understanding it, everyone benefits. Especially in the workplace, where so many brilliant ADHD minds are under-supported, under-valued, and often burnt out.

What to expect when working with me…

I’m not here to give you generic advice or pretend there’s a one-size-fits-all solution for ADHD. That’s not how our brains work.

I’m here to offer real support - the kind that meets you where you are, celebrates your strengths, and helps you create systems that actually work for your brain (not someone else’s idea of productivity).

Whether I’m coaching someone who’s feeling overwhelmed by adulting, or running a workshop for managers who want to better support their team, I bring honesty, empathy, and a deep belief that neurodivergence isn’t a flaw, it’s a different way of being brilliant.
